Cast Announced For Once On This Island

Heading out on tour this fall

The 2018 Tony award winner is heading out on its first national tour this fall! Kicking off in Cincinnati on September 7 the production team has now announced who will be joining the cast for the 27 city tour.

Original Broadway cast members Courtnee Carter, Tamyra Gray, Cassondra James, Phillip Boykin, and Julian
Tyler Hardwick as Ti Mourne, Papa Ge, Ezrulie, Tonton Julian and Daniel Beauxhomme respectively. 

Joining the cast will be Jahmaul Bakare as Agwe, Kyle Ramar Freeman as Asaka, Briana Brooks as Andrea, George L. Brown as Armand, Danielle Lee Greaves as Mama Euralie.

What is Once On This Island about?

Taking place on Haiti in the early 20th century, the population of this small island is split between the darker-skinned 'peasants' and the lighter-skinned wealthier population. In a sudden flash flood, a young girl (Ti Moune) is washed away, however, the island gods look kindly upon her and save her life, cementing her important destiny.

Years later, Ti Moune's destiny comes to fruition as she rescues a young rich man from a similar situation that be-falled her in her childhood. However, Ti Moune has a choice, in order to save this young man's life she must trade her soul...
