West End is changing the game

Lucy St. Louis (Glinda) and Alexia Khadime (Elphaba) are both making history in London's long-running musical, Wicked. This will be a first for London, as they have both leads played by actresses of colour. Lucy was also the first black actress to play the role of Christine Daae in Andrew Llyod Webber's Phantom of the Opera. This feat is a monumental moment, they are setting a precedent that is sure to influence other productions and further encourage diversity on the West End stage. Be sure to see this talented pair make history in Wicked today!

What is the story?

Did you always think that the Wicked Witch of the East and Glinda The Good were lifelong enemies? You'd be wrong! After a disastrous meeting at the magical academy, an extraordinary friendship forms between two girls who couldn't be any more different: blonde and ditzy Glinda, and the misunderstood nerdy green girl, Elphaba. Rejected by her family for her emerald skin tone and blamed for her younger sister's disability, Elphaba is expected to follow on in her cold father's role as mayor - but she has other plans. Plans that could change the lives of all Oz inhabitants forever.
