Idina Menzel Delivers Amazing Show in Dallas/Fort Worth

5/5

Whether she is belting Broadway tunes, movie hits or songs from her latest CD, Idina Menzel delivers a wicked good show! For more than 2 hours, Idina blew the roof off of the Verizon Theater, singing hits from "Rent" (Seasons of Love, No Day But Today), "Beaches" (Wind Beneath My Wings), and "Wicked" (I'm Not That Girl, Defying Gravity, For Good) and bringing the crowd to its feet over and over. She also covered some Led Zeppilin, Simon and Garfunkel, "Don't Rain On My Parade," and of course, the Oscar-winning "Let It Go" from "Frozen." Warm, funny, sassy and sexy, this is a diva who knows how to give one hell of a gravity-defying concert. We can't wait to see her again! AMAZING IDINA!

Idina Menzel performed to a very happy crowd last night at the Boston pavillion. Despite intermittent rain, the crowd was excited and not disappointed. Her range of musical selections was wonderful as is her on stage personality. She sings several selections from rent, wicked and of course frozen. She can really sing just about anything.. Her rendition of Dear Prudence was beautiful.. Without hesitation I would recommend going to one of her concerts.

My wife and I attend this concert in Dallas. There is another review that describes the level of talking vs singing. Crowd participation, etc. Won't go into it again. I agree with the basic feeling expressed there. I have a couple of other points. First what is it with the stage lights, fora good portion of the evening, one or another was pointed into the mezzanine making it impossible to see the stage. I didn't pay to be blinded. Next at times her voice seemed tired and she sang off-key. So between the crowd participation, the talking and the lights, I did not enjoy the concert as much as I was hoping.

60% talk 20% audience singing 20% Idina singing

We spent almost $300 in our front orchestra tickets for the Seattle concert on Friday July 19 2024, and we were TOTALLY disappointed. When Idina sang, it was OK, but she talked endlessly, and frankly it was super boring. When she sang Let It Go, it was mostly sung by the audience and she did it THREE times!!! She also had 5 people come to the front to sing other songs. We came for HER singing, not to hear amateurs. I've been to hundreds of concerts and this is the first time I see a performer ask for "the candies in her dressing room" and she proceeded to eat (and chew!!!) while performing. This was THE LEAST PROFESSIONAL concert in my life. It beat Pink Martini's with 3 false starts. They performed with the Seattle Symphony and my tickets were fully reimbursed because they acknowledged it was a bad concert. When people are paying $100+ for a concert, the least you expect is professionalism and a good performance. We got the total opposite. We should be fully reimbursed as well.
